When a Death Occurs

In the first hours after a loss, the questions come faster than answers. Let this be the answer that matters most: call Haisten McCullough Funeral Home at (770) 229-4994, any hour of any day, and we will carry the rest. Here is what those first steps look like.

What Happens First

If your loved one was under hospice or hospital care, the staff will make the official pronouncement and contact us at your request. If the death occurs at home unexpectedly, call 911 first. From the moment we receive your call, your loved one is in our care — and your family has our full attention.

When We Sit Down Together

Within a day or two we'll meet to plan the arrangements. It helps to bring any pre-plan documents, a recent photograph, clothing for your loved one, military discharge papers if they served, and vital details such as date of birth and Social Security number. Anything missing, we'll find together.

Spreading the Word Gently

Divide the calls among family members you trust, and let us handle the rest: we'll publish the obituary and service information on our website so friends, coworkers, and church family all know when and where to come. Word travels with love in a town like Griffin — let it work for you.
